Why? Riding

I ride for many reasons. But one reason, maybe more than any other, is to explore the world and ride with awesome people. Recently that’s just what I did.  It was actually my wife’s suggestion to take 10 days over the holidays and go somewhere to ride my bike. What a lady, I know!

After mulling it over for a while, I finally decided I would head to Amsterdam for a few days of riding in the last week of 2018. I then flew over to San Francisco on January 1 to visit a couple of mates, and followed this up with a multi-day ride down to LA.

The order of the trip was based around catching up with people I had met in Girona: clients of TSC and a few other people I’d randomly met through riding. People from all over the place, from Amsterdam to San Fran to Palo Alto to Thousand Oaks to LA.

Each day’s route was planned specifically around seeing and experiencing California’s incredible views, the kind that bring a certain feeling of nostalgia. There’s something special about Cali’s beaches, palm trees and rugged Pacific Coast Highway…

The trip turned out to be a really exceptional experience and I could spend hours writing about it. Instead, here are some cool photos I feel capture the spirit of the adventure…
